Recorded at Perry Vale Studios by legendary producer Pat Collier, and mastered by Dave Blackman at Hiltongrove, ‘An Honest Way of Living’ is the debut EP from the post-punk four piece.
Recorded towards the end of 2015 the band sat on the recordings for a whole year to concentrate on putting together their live shows. Unsatisfied by the original early mixes, the band sought out to find a new mix engineer to come to the project with fresh ears.
After months of searching, singer Andrew Glen finally decided to take on the challenge of mixing the record himself to explore the full potential of what these songs could be. An Honest Way of Living pulls away from the bands initial folk rock dynamic of their first single Embers to put them on what they believe to be the right musical path. It is influenced by a darker more electronic approach with the added introduction of pulsating synths, icy guitar riffs, to marry with Glen’s brooding baritone vocals. It’s a bold statement and shift in direction for the band who have now firmly settled into their newly found sound to allow them to take centre stage with these indie post-punk classics.
